Madison doesn't match on Ray. Ignore that post in the other thread. It wasn't here anyway so it doesn't count, right?

Well, I offered more to Lopez than you over the same term and he still choose VAN. So I'd say we're evenbschr682 wrote:udlb58 wrote:Greenville matches

Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
I kinda figured he'd be a no brainer at what I offered him at, but as I doubt his bat translates well (he'll be a'ight, just not a producer) I didn't want to give him much more. If you don't mind answering, what would you have not matched?7teen wrote:haha Madison matches!Ted wrote:Madison doesn't match on Ray. Ignore that post in the other thread. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has reservations about his batTed wrote:I kinda figured he'd be a no brainer at what I offered him at, but as I doubt his bat translates well (he'll be a'ight, just not a producer) I didn't want to give him much more. Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
If it had gotten close to 10, I wouldn't have matched. His offensive production scares me. Afraid he's taken a slight dip in ratings since the Rule 6 draft. 7 or 8 million would have made me think hard.Ted wrote:I kinda figured he'd be a no brainer at what I offered him at, but as I doubt his bat translates well (he'll be a'ight, just not a producer) I didn't want to give him much more. Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
Wow, didn't notice his regression until just now. RIP Ray - you could've been really good. Of course, 90 OPS+ and >5 ZR from a SS is still well worth 5M/year.

Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
This is why I was willing to pay him. SS is such a thin position that 90 OPS+ and 5+ ZR is probably in the 3 WAR range. Also, at 24, he could bump and get those ratings backagrudez wrote:Wow, didn't notice his regression until just now. RIP Ray - you could've been really good. Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
Yeah, I'm hoping I have some youth coming up ready to play this season that could hide Ray's bat in the 9 slot. My middle infield and 3B are expected to be weak offensively this season so we'll have to see... But nice to have an elite, defensive guy there nonetheless....agrudez wrote:Wow, didn't notice his regression until just now. RIP Ray - you could've been really good. Re: 2025-26 EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6)
Not even... If I could have kept him I would suddenly have had a pretty damn good rotation coupled with some big bats coming up shortly. Might have even made some noise this year right away.udlb58 wrote:Well, I offered more to Lopez than you over the same term and he still choose VAN. Of course, the flip side is that a 24 year-old lump is a pretty scary lump in terms of continued regression.Ted wrote:This is why I was willing to pay him.
