Extension Question

Post by crobillard » Fri Apr 10, 2015 7:31 pm

When a player has a Player Option and you offer them an extension the first year in negotiation is the year after the player option. Does a successful negotiation remove the player option?

I think maybe in the new version they added more contract options but as far as I know you still cant do what you are describing. So yea. Juan Garcia just might be a free agent eh? That would inspire quite the bidding war for his services.

Juan Garcia wont be a free agent, but my question is what happens if I sign him to an extension starting in 2022? I have the option of doing this. I'm debating on doing it. Wont hurt.

I wonder what would happen if he declines his player option but you put an extension on the books for the year after? Would OOTP just explode?

I think that any successful negotiation guarantees the player option.

Yea I just tested this. Switches to a guaranteed year. Too bad. I was waiting for all hell to break loose when Garcia declined his player option.
