896 Runs York spent most of his time in a Wolves uniform prior to the "modern-era" of the game (1995-Present). He would likely be the greatest offensive player in team history if not for the modern era offensive explosion in the MBWBA. At the time of his induction into the Wolves team Hall of Fame, York ranked 3rd in runs scored and hits in team history. He is second all-time in walks. His .350 batting average in 1990 is the only one that ranks in the top 10 in team history that is not attached to the names Puckett or Kengos. His 163 singles that season are the most hit by a Wolves in a single season.

Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2014
Played in Madison from 1983 to 1993
132-74 Record
2.68 ERA
1,686 Strikeouts
2,085.2 Innings Pitched If Kilkenny could have continued his outstanding pitching for a few years longer, he'd likely have a plaque in the MBWBA Hall of Fame as well as the one here in the Madison Hall of Fame and Museum. He is the all-time ERA record holder with a 2.68 mark in Madison. He ranked 3rd all-time in pitching wins with the club at the time of his induction. He was 2nd in innings pitched and 4th in strikeouts. His 2.15 ERA in 1987 remains the lowest single season ERA by a Madison Wolves pitcher. He won double digit games 11 consecutive seasons, 9 of which came as a member of the Madison Wolves.

Played in Madison from 1996 to 2011
74-84 Record
509 Saves
3.54 ERA
1,197 Strikeouts
1,063.2 Innings Pitched Marco is the Wolves all-times saves leader. He played his entire career in a Madison Wolves uniform. He is one of the 10 greatest closers in MBWBA history but will likely never make it into the League's Hall of Fame. He played in 5 All-Star games and won the Gunga Oogalagunga Award once for his performance on the field. He was also a member of the 2004 and 2009 Landis Memorial Series Championship Wolves squads and played in 11 post-seasons as a player. When he retired he had pitched in more games than any Wolves pitcher in history and also holds the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th most saves in a single season in Wolves history.

Tyree Wills
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2016
Played in Madison from 1996-2005

3.64 ERA
1,314 Strikeouts

At the time of his induction to the Hall of Fame, he ranked 4th in wins and innings pitched, 5th in strikeouts, and 9th in ERA among pitchers. His 21 wins in 2004 rank as the 4th most in a single season in Madison Wolves history. He will always be remembered as the 3rd member of the 3-man rotation that dominated games throughout the late 90s and early 2000s that included himself, Jessie Wright, and John Rasmussen. Despite having two 20 win seasons, Wills never won a Steve Nebraska Award, further solidifying himself as the silent ace during the Wolves dominating run of the decade.

Johan Schmatzhagen
Inducted Into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2017
Played in Marquette from 1974-1979
104-28 Record
2.11 ERA
1,525 Strikeouts
1,322.3 Innings Pitched Johan Schmatzhagen becomes the first member of the Wolves team Hall of Fame who never actually played as a Wolves or in Madison. Honoring the history of the club, Johan is inducted as an original Marquette Suns where the franchise called home from 1973 to 1983 before relocating to Madison in 1984. Schmatzhagen is a member of the MBWBA Hall of Fame, having been elected in as a Sun back in 1985. His 1976 season is still remembered as one of the greatest single season pitching performances in league history. He claimed two Owner's Choice pitching awards, one of which came during his time in Marquette. He was named to 5 All-Star teams with 3 of those coming consecutively as a member of the Suns. He would win a Landis Title with California the year Marquette traded him in 1979. Schmatzhagen gets overlooked historically having pitched during the same time as Steve Nebraska. But Johan is one of the all-time greats, having recorded five 20-win seasons. He sandwiched an 18 win season in during that run as well as a 19 win season prior to his run of four straight seasons with at least 20 victories.

Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2019
Played in Madison from 2001 to 2016
78-38 Record
97 Saves
3.52 ERA
1,359 Strikeouts
1,205.2 Innings Pitched Garcia is the single season saves record holder in team history with 50 set in 2014. His 967 games pitched is also a Madison Wolves record for most games pitched by a Wolves pitcher. He gets overshadowed as a great reliever in league history as he spent most of his career as a middle reliever and set-up man. In 2012, he logged a personal high of 118.1 innings pitched as a relief pitcher which netted him a 2.5 WAR. That was sandwiched around two other 100+ inning seasons. Garcia was a member of the 2004 and 2009 Landis Memorial Championship squads.

Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2019
Played in Madison from 1996 to 2003
NA/NA/.516

256 Homeruns
773 RBI
666 Runs Catron is one of the Wolves' all-time great sluggers. Unfortunately his time with the club ran out just before he could earn that elusive Landis Title with the club. At the time of his induction into the team's hall of fame, Catron ranked 6th on the club's hits, RBI, and runs scored lists while ranking 5th in homeruns in team history. Catron had a stretch in which he produced over 100 RBI in 5 of 6 seasons with the club. He matched that with 6 consecutive seasons with at least 80 runs scored.

John Rasmussen
Inducted to Wolves Hall of Fame in 2020
Played in Madison from 1999 to 2011
188-103 Record

Despite never winning a Nebraska Award in the Johnson League, his name was consistently in the top 5 among the voters several times. He was a member of one of the most dominating starting rotations in MBWBA history, joining the ranks of Jessie Wright and Tyree Wills. Rasmussen was a member of both the 2004 and 2009 Madison Wolves teams that claimed the Landis Memorial Championship trophy.

.308/.344/.533
3,900 Hits
720 Homeruns
2,537 RBI
2,048 Runs Kengos ranks not only first all time in team hits, homeruns, and RBI, but first in the entire MBWBA in all 3 of those categories. One of the greatest offensive threats in league history, Kengos spent his entire 23 year career as a Madison Wolves player. Kengos captured 3 Sawyer Silk Awards during his career and played in 17 all-star games with the club. He appeared in 14 post-seasons with the Wolves, capturing a Landis title with the team in 2004 and in 2009.

Played in Marquette in 1983, and in Madison from 1984-1992
104-87 Record
3.62 ERA
2,380 Strikeouts
1,904.2 Innings Pitched Finch spent his entire Madison Wolves career before the modern era of Monty Brewster Baseball. The 7 foot 1 power pitcher is the all-time leader in strikeouts in Madison Wolves history. In each of his 10 seasons with the organization, Finch recorded over 200 strikeouts. That not only helped place him 1st in franchise history, but puts him 2nd on the all-time MBWBA list of strikeouts. Hayden would win the Owner's Choice Award for the JL's top pitcher in 1988 as well as playing in back to back all-star games in 1988 and 1999. Finch would be a member of 3 post-season teams with Madison. All three squads failed to advance out of the first round.

Inducted into MBWBA Hall of Fame in 2023

.319/.423/.553
3,772 Hits
689 Homeruns
2,027 RBI
2,423 Runs One of the greatest, if not the greatest player in league history. Puckett claimed 7 Sawyer Silk awards during his time in Madison as well as being a member of the 2004 and 2009 Landis Championship teams. He spent 22 of is 24 years in the big leagues with the Madison franchise. He ranks 1st or 2nd in nearly every offensive category, not only on the team, but league wide.

Peter Pete
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2024
Elected to MBWBA Hall of Fame in 1980
Played in Marqutte from 1975 to 1979
.308/.393/.434
874 Hits
59 Homeruns
280 RBI
514 Runs Peter Pete was the second ever inductee into the MBBA Hall of Fame way back in 1980. He finally gets his recognition with the franchise he spent the most time with and that being the Madison/Marquette franchise. Pete came into the league at its inception in 1973. Pete's tenure in the league was cut short due to his age of 32 when the league began. Nonetheless, Pete made the most of his short time in the league. In just 7 seasons, he posted a 51.0 WAR, which equates to a very solid 7.3 WAR/season for his career.

Joe "Big Show Joe" Thomas
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2025
Played in Madison from 2003-2008
.299/.390/.556
606 Hits
126 Homeruns
397 RBI
403 Runs Scored Joe Thomas isn't the typical Hall of Fame inductee. Thomas is in the Wolves' Hall of Fame based off his short term appeal rather than long lasting stats. Thomas won the Joe Gillstrom Award in 2004 for being the Johnson League's top Rookie. He also had a monster post-season in 2004 that helped propel the Wolves to their first ever Landis Memorial Title. He followed that season up with a monster 2005 season that still ranks in the top 10 in Slugging, OPS, and Homeruns on the single season leaderboard in Wolves History. His Madison and MBWBA career lasted only 6 seasons, but his fan appeal and his short term playing ability was positive enough among the fans to get him into the team hall of fame.

Cam "Iceman" Adams
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2027
Played in Madison from 2010-2022; 2024
.251/.272/.451
1,858 Hits
359 Homeruns
1,179 RBI
837 Runs Scored Cam Adams joins the Wolves hall of fame having retired as the guy with the 3rd most homeruns and 3rd most RBI in team history. Drafted 14th overall in 2005, he joined the Wolves in 2010 and instantly began hitting homeruns and driving in RBI. In every season with Madison, Cam hit over 20 homeruns. He managed to drive in over 100 RBI on 5 separate occasions with the Wolves. He retired as one of the top 10 catchers in league history when it comes to the number of homeruns hit and runs batted in. Adams failed to win a Landis title during his tenure with Madison, though he did play in one and lost to New Orleans in 2012. That was likely one of Adams' best seasons as he hit 36 homeruns and drove in 121 RBI in helping lead Madison to the Johnson League pennant.

Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2029
Played in Madison from 2013-2022
70-61 Record
195 Saves
3.57 ERA
1,135 Strikeouts
1,099.3 Innings Pitched Tiant fluctuated between the rotation and the closers role throughout his career before making a name for himself as an elite closer in the league. He won 3 Gunga Oogalagunga/Jason Egan Awards during his time in Madison as the Johnson League's top reliever. He left Madison with 195 saves, good enough for 2nd on our all-time Saves list. At the time of his induction into the team hall of fame, Tiant was also in the top 10 in franchise history in pitchers WAR, games appeared, and Earned Run Average. Despite never appearing in the post-season in Madison, Tiant did have the honor of appearing in 5 all-star games as a member of the Wolves and 3 more later as a member of Frick League teams.

Hayfu Sobah
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2031
Inducted in BBA Hall of Fame in 1982
Played in Marquette from 1973-1975; 1976-1979
.269/.373/.523
854 Hits
180 Homeruns
605 RBI
576 Runs Scored Sobah spent his entire playing career in Marquette prior to the relocation of the franchise to Madison in 1984. Having entered the league at its start, Sobah was at a disadvantage when it comes to counting stats as he was already 30 years old when the league formed. Nonetheless, Sobah was able to make a name for himself by being named to 5 Johnson League all-star teams at shortstop over his short playing career as well as being named to the league Hall of Fame in 1982. After all of these years, as of the year 2031, Sobah still ranks 6th all-time in franchise history in slugging percentage.

Peter Bryant
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2033
Played in Madison from 2015-2022; 2028-2029
109-95 Record
3.77 ERA
1,166 Strikeouts
1,773.2 Innings Pitched Bryant, a former first round pick of the Wolves back in 2010, had a long, successful career in a Wolves uniform which totaled over 9.5 seasons with the club. His longevity as a starting pitcher with the franchise allowed him to rank in the top 10 in many pitching categories including career wins, starts, and innings pitched. He was the leader of the Wolves pitching staff during a down period in team success. Bryant never pitched for a team that made the post-season, but that didn't stop him from recording double digit win totals 6 different times while pitching for the Wolves.

Hilton Seymour
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2035
Managed in Madison from 2003-2017
1,377-1,053 Managerial Record
7 Johnson League Midwest Division Pennants
3 Johnson League Pennants
2004 and 2009 Landis Memorial Champions Haven taken over a franchise that had already won 5 straight division championships but had come up short of the Landis title it so coveted, Seymour was hired to get the Wolves over the Championship hump. He was able to accomplish that in his second season at the helm with the Wolves' victory over New Orleans in 2004. He'd lead them to another title, this time over Las Vegas, in 2009. At the time of his induction into the Madison Wolves Hall of Fame, Seymour is the longest tenured manager in team history as well as it's most successful in terms of wins.

Andy Martin
Inducted Into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2036
Played in Madison from 2013-2024
117-103 Record
4.09 ERA
1,446 Strikeouts
2,036.0 Innings Pitched Martin is a hall of famer for Madison through longevity and consistency. He was never an all-star caliber player and was never really in the running for many awards. But he was a consistent winner while with the team and got the job done in the Wolves rotation. He spent 12 seasons with the Wolves and won double digit games in 8 of those. He peaked with 15 wins in 2017 and won 14 games on two other occasions. At the time of his induction, he ranked 5th all-time in team wins with 117 but was also tied for the team lead in losses with 103. What it all means is he spent a lot of time with the club and was a fixture in the rotation. He never won a Landis Title but did appear in 3 post-season with the team.
[hr]
Byron Gonzalez
Inducted Into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2038
Played in Madison from 2001-2016
72-42 Record
3.62 ERA
532 Strikeouts
956.0 Innings Pitched A member of the 2004 and 2009 Landis Champion teams, Gonzalez was the guy who helped lead 3 other guys to the Wolves Hall of Fame. Never a closer, Gonzalez did his best to make sure the Wolves held the lead going into the 9th inning. And he did a great job at it. Upon his retirement, Gonzalez had appeared in the 3rd most games as a pitcher in Madison Wolves history. On two occasions, he finished 1st or 2nd in the league in holds, showing again his worth as a stop gap pitcher between the Wolves starting pitcher and its closer.

Wilson's time with Madison was one of the longest tenured runs as a GM with one team in league history, having spent 41 seasons with the organization. He left the Wolves franchise to take over the expansion franchise in Portland in the 2040 season.

Inducted into MBWBA Hall of Fame in 2021
Played in Madison from 1996 to 2018
.308/.344/.533

Hayden Finch
Inducted into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2022
Played in Marquette in 1983, and in Madison from 1984-1992
104-87 Record

Charles Puckett
Inducted to Wolves Hall of Fame in 2023
Inducted into MBWBA Hall of Fame in 2023
Played in Madison from 1997 to 2019
.319/.423/.553
[hr]
[hr]
[hr]
[hr]
Luis Tiant, IV

[hr]
[hr]
[hr]
[hr]
General Manager Chris Wilson
Inducted Into Wolves Hall of Fame in 2039
General Manager of Madison from 1999-2039
2 Landis Titles
14 Division Titles
4 League Pennants (All Johnson League)
3 Wild Cards Wilson took over a juggernaut of a squad in 1999 and rode it out to 11 straight division titles from 1999-2009 During that span the Wolves won 2 Landis Titles. Wilson's time with Madison was one of the longest tenured runs as a GM with one team in league history, having spent 41 seasons with the organization. He left the Wolves franchise to take over the expansion franchise in Portland in the 2040 season.

Re: Wolves Hall of Fame and Museum
Wright had a 6 year run where he was among the top 5 in the league. Had his career not taken a nose dive I think he would have made it. Kilkenny appeared on the ballot for many years but never got the support to get in. The other two were great for Madison, but not in the course of league history.aaronweiner wrote:It's surprising you only have one Hall of Famer amongst the group. Soon to be three, of course.
