Would it surprise you to know that the only offense in the Frick that's been better than Birmingham has been Buffalo?

Fingers crossed that we can keep it going

Same here. The sample size is looking substantial at this point though, I have high hopes that we can continue to smack the ball around.bigmike13 wrote:Actually, I was just looking at that.aaronweiner wrote:Sayeth the coven leader.

That's not as far-fetched as it seems. This is "The Fountain at Five Points South" in Birmingham, AL...likely the busiest entertainment district in downtown. The sculpture is called "The Storyteller" and, yes, that is a half-goat, half-man "reading" to various animals. And, yes, that is a Methodist church behind the fountain (obviously on separately-owned property).bigmike13 wrote:If it gets us to the playoffs It can't be all bad...............can it?trmmilwwi wrote:In Birmingham... The train station is ghetto for now (there are revitalization projects in the works). But if you think of the train tracks as dividing the city north/south, go south (toward "Red Mountain" w/ the statue of Vulcan on top) to see the nicer areas. That particular area is reached by just following 20th St. South and it's roughly 11th Ave So. (like most "five points" it's the old turnaround for the trolleys...the intersection is a circle where the trolleys were picked up and rotated to go back northward).agrudez wrote:Where is that in BIR, btw, Ben? I've only been down there to shuttle visitors to and from the train station and its pretty ghetto around there. Always looking for a new place to explore (am getting tired of driving to Nashville or Chattanooga).
Yeah, he's having a really solid year (5.4 WAR pace). You're welcome for the bulletin board material!JohnC wrote:Just noticed that Latrobe was FL pitcher of the month as well. Nice!

I've been in Charlotte since 2010, but Birmingham will always be my home. Most of my clients are in financial services and Charlotte is kind of an insulated market when it comes to that arena. Birmingham got devastated with mergers/buyouts when the economy went south. They still have Healthcare, though.agrudez wrote:Thanks for that - we'll probably do some day trips down there when the weather gets warmer so I'll keep that post in mind. Btw, are you back in state yet (I remember you saying work had you all over the place)? I could stick Nadia with the gf when we get down there one of the times and we could go play a round!
