Fans were excited when the team acquired starting pitcher, Francisco Lueras from Last Vegas this off-season.
On his Moonshiners' debut against the California Crusaders, Lueras sustained a torn rotator cuff.
"I'll get through it," Lueras said. "The key now is to stay positive."
His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for 4-5 months.
Manuel Miranda is expected to replace Lueras from the rotation according to sources.
In the pen last year, Miranda played 12 innings in 8 games, with 0.75 ERA.
Greenville is now down 3 starting pitchers this season.
David Schuster who sustained a torn flexor tendon last year, is still nursing his elbow. He's not expected to come back to the yard until August.
Also, Greenville's # 2 prospect Bob Martin is still out 3 months with torn rotator cuff.
