OOTP 14

Post by Greeney03 » Thu Jan 24, 2013 11:28 am

Are we going to switch to OOTP 14 anytime soon? If so, I'd like to know so I can get $5 off. :hi5:

My guess is that we'll switch to the new version after the first initial patch is out. Buy it now, you'll need it.

Some different sources for FA's (japan market, scouting features), a better aging engine that shifts older players from SS/CF to corner spots, better AI for solo leagues and improved real time sim view for solo leagues as best as I can tell/am aware.

I am asking, if/when we "upgrade" to v14 that we do so when it is on sale for 1/2 price. I believe that is at the all star game (July) and the world series (October).

Maybe I'm mistaken about the all star game discount (I can perhaps search my email), but it is difficult for me to pay full price for every so-called upgrade. I see no big difference in v13 as compared to v12 except some eye candy that went bad.

I can wait for the discount as well. 12 has been good for me thus far.

Always buy it. Support your developer. It *sounds* like there's enough cool stuff with draft/international stuff that would fit this league, in particular, perfectly. We'll see. Like last time, we'll hold out for a while before switching.

Didn't they completely overhaul the pitching engine with respect to the draft and minor league development?

Big time!! In fact, I got bit by it in this past draft...when the best pitchers were used as starters in high school/college regardless of if they had one pitch or two, you gotsta pay attention...

Yes, they did. It was a major difference and one that some of you may have already enjoyed in terms of a two pitch pitcher developing a third pitch on their own.

My point is that I can't afford it, at full or near full price.

If the league decides to switch you'll have first dibs on my 2nd license.
