Hawaii 2B Arata Ine drives in three of his team’s six runs to lead the Trops to a win. Ine has filled in nicely for injured starter Miguel ‘Thrillseeker’ Martinez going 2 for 4 in this game with a couple of doubles (4) and scored a run.
On the mound, Harry Spurlock gave up three runs on seven hits with a couple of walks. He racked up four Ks in 5.1 innings to pick up the win. Cale Cote tossed a clean inning with a K after a string of bad relief appearances. Gheorghe Sollomovici picked up a save with a scoreless inning and two walks.

The Trops and Black Sox engaged in a pitcher’s duel at ‘Iolani Palace with Chicago holding off Hawaii to even the series 1-1. Trops starter ‘Furball’ Einan was sharp as usual allowing just two runs on three hits and a walk in 6.1 innings. He fanned five but was tagged with the loss to fall to 0-1 with a tidy 1.89 ERA.
The Tropics pushed across their only run on an RBI single by Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez that scored new second baseman Jesus Rosito.

Trops 1B Harry Surface popped a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to give his team the lead. Then the ‘Mad Hatter’ shut down the Black Sox for 1.1 innings to pick up the win for Hawaii.
Buwono Mainaky made the start for Hawaii tossing seven innings and allowing a couple of runs on five hits. He famed five in a no decision.
Surface was 1 for 3 with the two-run homer (2) and an RBI on a sac fly. Vicente Martinez was 1 for 3 with a double (2) and a sac fly RBI. Jorge Dodd has been relatively quiet this season but was 2 for 3 with a double (4) and a solo homer (1) in the 2nd inning.
The Tropics win the three-game series over the Black Sox 2-1.
