2065.18 Sim 2-Better than Sim 1

Post by Krathan » Wed Nov 26, 2025 7:35 pm

That was better. After an ugly 1-4 start, with three 1 run losses, I was happy to see the team go 4-2 this sim. (Yes, we lost another 1 run game. This one was a walk off loss in Jacksonville that lasted 13 innings.)

We also won a 1 run game. The first game of the sim was a 4-3 victory against that team out east, after losing the first two of a four game series against our rivals. John Miller gave up 3 early runs. One was unearned thanks to a Tommy Anderson error. José Bedreddin and Tony Villa both homered in the third to tie the game. For Villa, it was his first hit of the season after starting 0-20. Jacquot Natta drove in the winning run with an eighth inning sacrifice fly and the Swamp Fox was off of our backs.

Felipe Cummings didn’t have his best stuff in the series finale, but Tommy Anderson, José Bedreddin, and Jorge Trujillo each homered in a 5 run sixth inning to deliver a second straight win and bring the Battle for Carolina to a 2-2 stalemate early in the campaign.

The aforementioned extra inning loss featured multiple blown leads for the Flyers, including a 2 run bomb in the bottom of the 9th against Felipe Herrera. The win probability chart resembled a couple of large mountains leading to a waterfall.

The next two games were not close. Charlotte won 8-3 and the Zombies won the series with a 10-5 finale.

After an off day, we had a come from behind extra inning walk-off of our own, fueled by a 2 homer game by Tommy Anderson. Anderson's second home run tied the game at 6 in the bottom of the ninth inning, setting up Duke Silver for the game winning RBI single in the bottom of the 11th, scoring Domingo Chávez.

Anderson had 5 home runs and drove in 11 on the week.

Villa rebounded nicely from his painful opening sim, with a .296 average and his first home run of the season.

The starting rotation didn’t have a great week. Nick Rivers may be on his way to the bullpen after allowing 5 runs in just 3.2 innings, giving him a season ERA of 10.13.

The Flyers lead the JL with 18 home runs in the first 11 games.

Three Charlotte batters are in the top 7 in the league in strikeouts.

One of them, Francisco Ayala, is also second in the league in SLG and ISO.

Nick Rivers is tied for the second most walks issued on the season, with 8. He has only pitched 8 innings. On the other side of the equation, Emílio Carrillo and Salvador Montáñez are both in the top 8 in the JL for Walk %.
