Mexico City, Quetzalcoatl Dome — The Mexico City Aztecs have been informed that relief pitcher Mike Dykstra is likely to miss 4-5 months after he injured himself while pitching in a game against the Calgary Pioneers. Dykstra was injured shortly after giving up a 3-run home run to Calgary right-fielder Michael George. He had a 1-2 count on Don Reid when he stepped off the mound holding his back. Team Trainer Mukhtar Jamshed came out to examine Dykstra and he was removed from the game immediately. A round of tests later revealed the injury to be a torn back muscle.
Dykstra missed 4-5 weeks back in 2060 due to a sore shoulder, so he knows his way around the Aztec rehab facility.
"Injuries are part of the game. We wish Mike a speedy recovery and look forward to hopefully getting him back at some point this season" said Manager Ramiro Estrada.
