It's Tea Time in the Pegler League! - 65.04

Post by neugey » Fri Nov 14, 2025 2:16 pm

During the 2064-2065 offseason, GM Mike Bauer decided the time was right to relocate and rebrand one of the Boise Spuds minor league franchises. Here's some further information:

What?
The A-level Pegler league Tulsa Ginzels have been relocated to the Tea Kettles

Who?
The roster for the 2065 A-league team is a very fluid situation as we await spring training and the rosters to setup depth as necessary throughout the organization. But one player you can count on exciting the fans is 18-year-old closer Jose Falcones. Jose is a talented lefty flamethrower who is destined for the majors but due to his age will not rise any higher than the A-level ranks. Last season he got off to a great start, saving 21 games with a 2.08 ERA.

Where?
The team has been moved to Tea, SD. Tea is a suburb of Sioux Falls, SD. It's southwest of Sioux Falls city limits. The team will play in the newly constructed Tea Area Sports Mecca. This outlying area of Sioux Falls was chosen because of it's proximity to I-29 and ideal traffic flow. The massive popularity of Brewster baseball and the expected impressive attendance figures will not cause any traffic burden on Sioux Falls, while providing a convenient nearby location for great entertainment.

Why?
from Mike:
"Sioux Falls, SD is my hometown. This last year (in our 2025 "simulation" world) I moved from Sioux Falls to Springfield, TN (north of Nashville). It's been a trying year and as of late I've been feeling melancholy because I miss some aspects of Sioux Falls and the Midwest. So moving a team to this area was done for sentimental and therapeutic reasons. From 2016-2021 we lived in a house that was very close to Tea. I'd sometimes go into the area for food and gas. When I was young, I vividly remember the Tea exit having the best fireworks pop-ups around the city. Good prices and great selection. Going to Tea to buy fireworks was an annual tradition. Also Tea was the former home of the Tea Steakhouse, arguably the best steakhouse in eastern South Dakota. I'm probably not the only one who misses the old days when gas was cheap and steakhouses were awesome."

"I also took a cue from Ron's Bikini Krill in that I wanted a name that might intrigue people. Something that did not initially sound like a sports team. For what it's worth, the high school team is named the Tea Area Titans. I figured Kettles would be fun and would work."

How?
With Participation points!

When?
A few sims ago LOL
