2065.07: Bears' Cubs - Right Field Prospects

12/16/2064

Here is a link to last year’s right field prospect ranking. There are some high ceilings below thanks to us making this position more of a priority but not really any players ready to make an immediate impact.

#1 Jarlath Ruttledge (B) | Age: 19 | R
OVR/POTCONBABIPAVKGAPPOWEYE
25/452/54/61/37/114/93/6
Our 2064 first round pick (25th overall) is a toolsy right fielder who can run, throw, and hit the ball with authority. Ruttledge’s Achilles heel is his inconsistent ability to get bat to ball, but when he did in his debut minor league season he connected for 22 home runs and a 1.068 OPS. He’s still an extreme developmental risk but Ruttledge will move up to SA in 2065.

#2 Kyle Kaylor (C-) | Age: 21 | SA
OVR/POTCONBABIPAVKGAPPOWEYE
35/404/55/53/56/65/64/5
Kaylor had a meh 2064 season. Statistically, his excellent outfield defense for SA St. Kitts enabled a 1.4 WAR despite a 94 OPS+. From a scouting perspective, he lumped a point of BABIP but also developed a point. Expect him to try full season ball in 2065 with the need to have a good year if he wants to continue being viewed as a relevant prospect.

#3 Adrian Tsoutsouvas (C-) | Age: 22 | SA
OVR/POTCONBABIPAVKGAPPOWEYE
35/405/65/65/64/55/64/4
Tsoutsouvas, on the other hand, had a resurgent 2064 that improved his prospect stock. He developed a point in every field (including a bump to eye) while posting a 1.207 OPS in SA in an admittedly small sample since his playing time was not prioritized. That shouldn’t happen again in A ball in 2065 as he looks like a viable AAAA type minor league depth guy when fully developed.

#4 Yushua Rafiq (D+) | Age: 16 | INT
OVR/POTCONBABIPAVKGAPPOWEYE
20/401/42/61/11/42/72/11
I had to dig into the international complex to find a fourth prospect worth writing about but Rafiq has the kind of loud tools you want to see in a teenager down there. Plus power and plus-plus batting eye are hampered by the lowest possible rating in AVK. I don’t expect he’ll be ready for affiliated ball in 2065.

Rutledge's 3 AVK seems a point of contention.
