The Sluggers organization and fanbase have the right to be pleased with how the 2064 season unfolded. Its first winning season and playoff appearance in a decade almost produced a division title and saw the team expertly take down Des Moines in the first round of the playoffs. The rebuild is over and now the team must rely upon the cast of character it has assembled.
That cast was an offensive force, producing the most runs in the league and spreading that wealth up and down the lineup. The pitching staff and team defense were relatively poor collectively, but many of the pitchers are still very young, so fans hope to see an overall improvement despite no team plans to trade or sign free agents.
And that is what the city of Louisville has to look forward to next season. Not a free agent surprise that gets the team to the next level. Not a trade that risks the future for the potential of near-term success. But rather the same team as before, just a year older. The hope is that a simple rinse and repeat will be a luxury instead of a liability. With so many players still developing and yet to reach their prime, the team overall should be better even without any additions from outside. That means GM BP can relax during the offseason and focus on plans to see the band Rush on their upcoming Ninety-Something Tour. "At this point those guys may be mostly cybernetic beings, but they can still play!" exclaimed GM BP. "Can't wait."

I intend to do the same thing (albeit I had a less successful team) but I have less faith in normal developmental arcs than I did in the past. Other teams are gonna keep promoting good young players.
