Johnson League GMs: Pitch me on Your All Stars

Post by Trebro » Wed Sep 24, 2025 6:05 pm

I want to know who you think I should vote for from your team. Don't be modest but also don't be redicullous.

Let me know who is deserving. I'm not as up on the Johnson as Your Mom used to be.

Absolutely nobody from Mexico City. We were 1 game out of first and then proceeded to go 4-18. Maybe 2B Zero Dimotsios, but I don’t know.
If I had to nominate someone, it would be the hot dog vendor at our stadium. He is probably out-working everyone on the team this season.

CL Eduardo Jimenez. 3.29 ERA doesnt jump at you - but came off the IL early - allowed 7 runs in first 5 games. Take those out and his ERA is in the 1.XX range.

Starting pitcher Luis González is our most deserving. He leads the league in SP ERA at 2.45, is tied for the league lead in quality starts with 12, and ranks second among SPs with 3.8 rWAR and 154 ERA+.

Stopper Adam Bristcoe has returned to his dominant ways after an off year last season. He leads all relievers in rWAR and wins, ranks second in innings pitched, and third in ERA (1.80).

2B Jaime Serna is our best position player, leading all 2B in OPS, OPS+, slugging, and WPA while ranking second in WAR. He is currently playing shortstop until Reynaldo Serrano returns from yet another injury.

Rookie catcher Luis Campos leads all catchers with 11 home runs and 0.96 WPA, despite only recently being promoted to full-time catcher. He's third in RBIs.

Our entire outfield appears to be taking this season off but we hope to hear from them soon.

Tony Villa would have probably been a pretty obvious choice if he hadn't just missed 5 weeks with an injury. He had a .915 OPS and 140 wRC+ in his first 49 games.

Eduardo Moreno has been good so far this year, with a FIP- of 70. He hasn't been as good as last season, but still very solid.

Alfredo Trujillo is on pace for another 30 HR and 100 RBI season.

But if I was just looking for one guy, I would probably pick Felipe Cummings. He leads the team in WAR and rWAR (Top 10 in the JL for both.) He also leads the JL in WHIP.

Wait, you're picking the Johnson league all stars? I will be greatly disappointed if you do not pick the very worst players to support your league.

Just asking for help in terms of who to vote for. Or perhaps to NOT vote for to help the Frick...

The Zombies score runs in droves. They get a ton of production up the middle. They’re the poster child for sacrificing some defense for excellent hitting.

I have to admit, I felt pretty good voting this year.

I felt a little like Natalie Portman's character, Jane Foster, after watching Thor transform. "That's a GOOD LOOK."

Do Not vote for any Talon All Stars.

The All Star game ruins players who participate.

Plus almost every Talon has AS bonuses that I would have to pay out.

So, once again, Do NOT vote Talons for All Star.

I didn't.
