Scribblings from the Skytree 2064 #1.

Top Pitcher: Eugênio Velosa.

One for the future and one for the present going of his skill and stats, the 22 year old in his third season with the Tokyo Pearls as taken to the GBC like a duck to water. Started in rookie ball and after only 29 games made the leap to the majors, he had a record of 9-3 and 12 saves last season and on pace to better those stats this season.

Top Hitter: LF Orlando Guerra.

Came up last year and didn't set the world on fire, take two and he's making his mark in the majors this season. 11 hits and 5 runs batted in within his last 4 games.

Got his chance when Manuel Flores went down with an hamstring injury at the start of the season and was more than happy to take it.

Biggest Surprise: P Hughie Dunstone.

Signed as a free agent in the off season just passed, Dunstone is surprising not just the GBC but his new employees the Tokyo Pearls. Dunstone according to Tiljad Mwarania the manager of the Pearls is at the moment the best pitcher in the Pearls organisation.

"We picked up Hughie on the cheap, we needed some arms, if I've learned anything from working in the GBC, you need a stacked bullpen with plenty of arms. He may have even earned a contract extension, however that's down to the money men."

Dunstone ended the month by striking out the final 3 of the Moscow Thunder Bears, it may well have been a 4-1 defeat for the Pearls but if a couple of the other Pearls pitchers took note of Dunstone they may well be in a better position than they are.

Biggest Dissapointment: P Mike Reusch.

Reusch is simply an enigma, he as all the talent you could ever want. However he doesn't provide the final outcome, a manager's head scratcher. He lit up Single A with the Shanghai Catbirds but struggled in every other level of the GBC pyramid, maybe Single A is his level, maybe his mindset as reached its level but if someone can unlock the talent he possesses them they would have a top pitcher on their hands.

Strange to see such a regression from Yue-jiu Lai. He was my best arm last season.

The Last 1/2 dozen games he's gone bad, good, bad, good, bad. If he goes to form he should have a good outing next time he pitches.
