Reyes was born on the border of Kentucky, just south of Cincinnati. His mom is a zoologist at the zoo and Jose would often be able to help clean up exhibits after hours. He got really good shoveling rhino poop and clearing hay. This helped him develop good hand and being able to shuttle his feet low to the ground that translated to good glove skills in baseball. His bat would eventually blossom during his sophomore year of college and he was drafted by the Bluebirds with their first pick in the 2063 draft.
He probably won't be much of a threat at the plate, but Reyes offers exceptional defense up the middle. He should be able to stay at SS, and while he may not win any Zimmers, he should be more than adequate. Offensively, he will likely be lower than a league average hitter, but maybe slightly above average for a glove first infielder. He had a .585 OPS in Single A in 2063, but still manage a positive WAR. He seems to have developed a bit more and promises to be a more productive player in 2064, but likely won't sniff the BBA for a couple more seasons.
