Crawdad Chronicles 63.06 - Callum McKay requests trade

McKay, 27, signed a 4 year - 50M contract with the Crawdads in 2061. Before that he spent 4 years with the Tokyo Pearls where he became a significant force in their lineup. The Crawdads decided they had money to blow, and took a turn at him in free agency. He has been an average player, locking in about 1.4 WAR per season - far less than would be desired for a 13M/year player. After hitting 51 home runs in his last 2 years in Tokyo, his power numbers have declined, hitting only 8 home runs in the failed 2063 season. Worse, his OF range and ZR have been sub-par.

Originally from Scotland, by way to China, Australia and Tokyo to New Orleans - McKay is clearly not afraid of changing scenery (or culture). But he appears to be greatly unhappy in New Orleans. And frankly, who can blame him. Money is one thing, but he wants to win. And that doesnt appear to be in the cards in the near future in the Big Easy.

Time will tell if New Orleans honors the request. Probably depends on how much return they can get - and if htey want to eat his salary.

It would really help if his power translated into just like five more HRs. He's just not SLGing enough.
