Cruz would make the team good every five days. Bayou helps the pitchers and plays every day.
True but assuming that Cruz plays to potential, you can get an almost Bayou, but it's much harder to get a Cruz.

This thread is painful. I think I'll avoid it for my mental health

It all depends on your criteria. If we are talking about 20 year old Bayou VS 20 year old Cruz... I'm taking Bayou all day. Since Bayou is already 27 and super expensive. I'll take Cruz 100 out of 100 times. Bayou relies on speed, range, and contact. Those 3 generally start to decline about 32-33. Sometimes sooner. Cruz at 20, probably has 15 prime years left versus 5 of Bayou.

Thought I made that clear in the OP, but yes, if we make everyone 20 again with no service time, I might choose someone other than Cruz.

Cruz has the crazy high Babip, but I wonder if rust might have caused some of his early troubles. Almost 3 months between starts

Considering he has an 18/2 K/BB ratio in 17 innings, I would suggest to you that it's definitely his .464 BABIP. Nothing to see here other than that Madison is terrible.
