There's no question that Ji-Hoon will enjoy traveling to Montreal, as the skinny 17 year old has an interesting opportunity to become either the Blazers' future starting third baseman or shortstop.
Our top two picks will go immediately to the top of our prospect depth chart at 3B (Daniel Bañuelos) and SS (Ji-hoon Tokko) because we currently have no prospects at either position in our minor league system. That has to be a great situation for a young draft pick.
It would be cool if Banuelos and Tokko opened a restaurant together in Montreal called Tokko’s and Tacos.

Thanks again for this feature.

THe only reason I got Martinez is that, after looking for a while, I realized he could be a right-handed Adrian Tallent if all goes well. In fact, Martinez is much more developed than Tallent was when he was drafted. The injury risk is real, though, I concede.

It’s not every day that you realize your draft pick’s main talent is to be Tallent.

I hope he’s Tallented talented.

Great analysis on my pick of Claudio Confer. He'll get the dev lab treatment to play a better LF and to increase his steal/baserunning. When/if he develops, I'll be jotting his name down in the leadoff spot in Cobble Hill for a decade or more.

Now I just need to find eight more exactly like him..haha

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Well, obviously you would prefer he confer his Confer by transfer, but if you can’t transfer Confer you’ll have to defer to whatever players you can refer.

I think Cornelio will get his start in AA for a month before AAA. Don't feel comfortable right now tossing him into ML. Maybe he changes my mind. His intangibles will take up some PP the next couple of offseasons.

Great article. Even if I now think the Austin GM is an idiot.

Was not happy with this years draft pool.

Well, you would know.

But I don't agree. I liked the Morales pick more than it sounded like: when I say that a pitcher will at least become a reliever that's a good thing, not a bad one, even though people mistake that for the opposite. In his case, if he doesn't get his changeup he still has a career. If the guys who don't get their stuff don't get their stuff, maybe they're fringe starters, maybe they're 4-A players. As always, I don't know anything, but I do give my opinion.

what disappointed you about the draft class? I was finding interesting guys into the 4th-5th round.
