Luke, born to notorious parents, has always been in the spotlight. Though questions surround the legitimacy of the paternal results, Luke is a professional hitter like the name of the father on his birth certificate. His older step brother, Sammy ‘Bumper’ McNeill, soaked up the limelight while Luke snuck in under the radar. Many didn’t know of his existence prior to being named in the 2057 draft pool probably because he went under the moniker, Luke Cage. He prefers being introduced by his alter ego and not his embarrassing surname given to him at birth. He’s got the tools at 18 years old to make it as a big league shortstop, but would be an elite second baseman. His bat to ball skills are hard to beat, but he lacks power and has above average skills on the basepaths. His parents are not welcome at Les Paul Field, but Luke has no problem with that and feels it will help him play to the best of his ability.

Luke had success in Single A with Charlotte before being dealt to Nashville for Steven Clayton, but only played 4 postseason games with Nashville’s system. Thus far in 2059, Luke is batting .269 while playing great shortstop in Single A. Coaches spent extra time with him in the offseason, but were unable to improve his plate discipline and fielding and further. They will try again next offseason.

Well, not a lot happened to Cage after his first full season in Nashville's farm. After a decent start in Single A, Cage cooled off tremendously and ended with a .608 OPS, but had 11.1 ZR. He was overmatched, but I didn't want to mess with his morale by demoting him. He's batting .305 in 16 G in 2060, thus far. Really hope he makes some strides forward as 2059 seems to have been a wasted year. He's had two years of attempting to improve his discipline and defense and has failed all four attempts.

Interesting he hasn’t seen any real development gains.

I think that’s going to change but this game is weird sometimes.

Very unfortunate, but he should’ve been in short A instead of Single A. Probably over thought the morale part of it.

Saw a little improvement from Cage, but not much. He did, however, raise his batting average from .231 in '59 to .275 in '60, so that's a positive sign. Still young, but hoping for a big jump in development this season.

I’m really curious to see how he ends up developing. It’s a bummer his eye lumped.

Yeah, but I'm more concerned his contact won't develop. Either way, should be a decent enough player with that glove.

He should still be a top tier SS. Should bat .300+ and steal bases while being a premier glove. If he fully develops, of course, he should be a 4-5 WAR player.

.250 in AA seems a stretch for . 300 in BBA but we'll see.

His contact and AVK is only about halfway developed and he just turned 22. He's still got time to develop.

Cage really needs to develop this season. He's got one option year left, but if he doesn't start making better contact, he'll be limited to a bench/utility role. Still only 22, though.
