The Outlaws did some (dirty?) work in December, signing two released DMO pitchers deemed unworthy to stay in Iowa.
SP Greg 'Speedy' Shaw

The ageing Shaw, who turns 36 in March and is not speedy at all, spent weeks on the Waiver List and no one bit. A key starter for DM in their 61 playoff season, with 14 wins, he was also embroiled in the Muslin Affair (see pertinent issues of this blog) as one of three Jewish DM pitchers who were also alleged to be Mossad agents by MPR, Mistaken Public Radio, aka Misinformed Public Radio. Last season he was limited to 16 starts and displayed a 4.78 ERA, and the one-time Louisville stabilizer found himself off the DM roster in October. JRamirez still questions whether this was deliberate or a fuck-up dealing with differing Waiver/DFA time periods in the funky offseason, but in the end he said, yeah time to youth-size. Shaw has been subsequently signed by San Antonio to a one-year deal. Get it? "Has been."
SP Dave Lachance

This 28-y.o. British Columbia with a montón (ton) of green attributes and four blue-rated pitches, was swiped by the Outlaws after DM dropped him, signing a minor league contract for the guy who was out of minor league options. The fair thing to do now is trade him to DM.
