Krantivira Kalluri
Originally signed out of India by Edmonton in 2049, Kalluri was claimed by San Fernando in 2060. Charlotte signed him during the recent offseason with a $550,000 bonus.
He spent five long seasons in rookie ball before beginning his rise through the Edmonton organization. In 2056, he started 12 games in Short Season A, going 4-2 with a 2.36 ERA (200 ERA+). In 2057, he started 23 games in Single-A, going 8-3 with a 2.24 ERA (180 ERA+). In 2058, he split time between AA and AAA, starting 16 and 12 games respectively, with ERAs of 1.76 and 2.05.
In 2059, he was called up to Edmonton for two appearances and then waived off their secondary roster after the season. With San Fernando, he made 46 appearances with their AA team, going 7-2 with a 2.23 ERA (191 ERA+). The next season in AAA, he made 23 starts, going 4-5 with a 4.39 ERA (110 ERA+).
Kalluri has an impressive four-pitch repertoire that scouts project to include two elite pitches: a knuckle curve and a changeup. He has a plus fastball that sits around 95-97 mph and a plus-plus cutter. His pitches have decent movement but he struggles with command. Scouts say that he lacks motivation and has poor work habits.
