GM Brandon Tucker: So, Markus, who do we like so far?
Manager Markus O'Byrne: Well, first off, if a grounder is hit to first, there will be no one there to stop it.
Tucker: Well, that's the obvious hole that we have after letting Moreno walk. I was thinking more of starting with someone who can lead these guys. Someone they can look to when things get tough in the clubhouse.
O'Byrne: Yeah Johnny Nicholson is always causing problems. He sits in front of the mirror admiring himself before each game, and I can't seem to motivate Abid Kakakhel to do anything.
Tucker: Ok, I have a few guys in mind we can bring in that are affordable
O'Byrne: We could go get Blackwell. He plays first base AND has great leadership
Tucker: Kenny?? He's also 37, and his skills are declining faster than a snowman in Miami.
O'Byrne: What about Felipe Vega?
Tucker: Old man Vega? He's four years older than Blackwell! We are trying to build a strong clubhouse, not a retirement home.
O'Byrne: How about Sterling Kennedy? He hit .266 last season for the Mars Martians in the Valencia Stars organization.
Tucker: He would make a great leader but his defense is so bad, I'm not sure he could even stop a grounder hit to first. Let me make some calls and see what I can come up with. We may need to try to swing bigger...
