The BBA was once again delayed due to the shenanigans of the Talons Reclusive GM.
But its not as simple as a delayed draft pick due to a work schedule. This time, the Talons GM failed to adequately inform the Commissioner's office of pending arbitration proceedings as well as the team's plans for player development. As a result, league proceedings were delayed, and fellow BBA GM's are none too pleased. The Talons boss is already not the most popular among his peers, and incidents like this are the reason why.
In any event, the GM finally showed up in Phoenix today with a nonsensical story explaining his tardiness.
"Holy crap guys, what a night," he begain.
"I was in Tokyo dealing with the Pearls, after yet another false alarm regarding a new GM over there. Once I was informed that in fact no one would be running that GBC team yet again, I had to dig out the old Skymiles card and jet over to Japan and get them straight. Mind you, I've been going through this for like 7 years now, but I digress."
"At any rate, after we prevented Umar Doger from jumping ship to the BBA yet again by signing him to a rediculous contract, I boarded a Boeing 797 in order to get back to Arizona. And, well, it was a Boeing, so its not hard to guess what happened next!"
He continued. "So yeah, we crashed into the ocean. No biggie... these new planes, when they crash, the whole plane becomes like a big airbag and everyone was fine. But, we were still in the middle of the Pacific. Eventually, we drifted over to an island. The sole inhabitant there was a strange man who claimed to be a world famous author."
"We were understandably suspicious, but there was nowhere else to go. Then this guy says he can get us back to the States through something called the 'Come Together Door,' whatever that means. But hey, it worked, and here I am, ready to run the Talons into the ground!"
"Oh by the way, does anyone know what this 'Development Lab' even does?"
