Remington Little will not be re-signed
"Robb Wells neither," says Stitch Lilo

Honolulu
September 25

"Hell no," says team spokesperson Stitch Lilo, "We ain't bringing back Remington
Steele, er, Little
."

Al Hoot has been waiting three years for Little's contract to run its course.

The 32-year-old hurler, finishing his 10th season with Hawai'i, leads a cast of candidates
unlikely to be re-signed for 2005.

Little is purportedly demanding $3.8m a year, which represents a salary increase for the
Charlotte, North Carolina native whose ML lifetime record is 78-90, 4.59 in ten seasons,
all with Hawai'i.

"He's pricing himself outside [our] market," says Lilo, "The same way Stevie [McCullough]
and Beefsteak [Kevin Brodeur] did three years ago. McCullough re-signed with the club
this season at 1/4 the amount he wanted at the end of 2001.

Robb Wells, whose 10 years with Hawai'i coincide with Little's, will reportedly also be let go.

Wells has played 150 games this season, swatted 16 home runs, and driven in 76 runners. He
returned to full time duty this season after the Tropics terminated the trial with Turrell at third.

"Oh yeah," says Lilo, "We just biding our time 'till we can say 'aloha' to Mr Turrell."

The status of other possible free agents: Tex Correia, Eric Lockett, and Oscar Funke, is
uncertain, Lilo says.

Robb Wells has probably played in more games than any other Tropic the past ten seasons. He
is second on the team in at bats this year.

Jeff Mueller is expected to take over the hot corner full time in 2005.

Addendum: Phoenix claimed Remington Little on year-end waivers.
Best of success to both Little and the Talons. If Phoenix signs, him
it will be interesting to see for how much...and how many batters
Little walks for Phoenix.

Yeah, I saw that Phoenix had him. Let's see if they can get him re-signed.
