....now how'd these ladies get their beads??!
May 7th, 2059 - Gertie’s Girls Lucky Number 15th Stop: The Big Easy and Bourbon Street Adventures

Gertie's Girls had finally made it to their 15th stop on the trip: New Orleans, the Big Easy. Their excitement was palpable as they crossed into the city, each one of them eager to dive into the vibrant culture and electric atmosphere of New Orleans.

"We're here!" Gertie announced, her eyes twinkling with excitement as they drove into the city. "Who's ready for 36 hours straight on Bourbon Street?"

The unanimous cheer that followed was all the affirmation they needed. The girls had decided to immerse themselves in the full Bourbon Street experience, determined to leave no stone unturned in their quest for fun and adventure.

Their first night on Bourbon Street was a sensory overload. The neon lights, the cacophony of live music spilling out of every bar, the street performers, and the throngs of people from all walks of life created an intoxicating atmosphere. They started with hand grenades at Tropical Isle, moving on to Hurricanes at Pat O'Brien's, and then to tasting some beignets at Café du Monde.

"Can you believe this place?" Molly shouted over the din of a brass band playing nearby. "It's like another world!"

Lila, who had already acquired several strands of beads, laughed. "I've never seen so many interesting people in one place. Look at that guy on stilts!"

As the night wore on, the girls found themselves weaving in and out of bars, dancing to jazz, and joining in impromptu parades. The next morning, rather than calling it a night, they powered through with the help of strong coffee and beignets, continuing their exploration of Bourbon Street.

By the second night, they were running on pure adrenaline. Somewhere in the early hours, Gertie noticed that Casey had wandered off. "Where's Casey?" she asked, looking around with concern.

"She was just here a minute ago," Lila replied, scanning the crowd.

Molly, who was trying to flag down a streetcar performer for a photo, shrugged. "She probably went to get more beads or something. She'll turn up."

Sure enough, Casey reappeared a few hours later with a wide grin on her face and a wild story. "You won't believe what just happened to me!"

Gertie raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Try us."

"I got invited to a secret jazz club by this old guy who said he knew Louis Armstrong! We went through this hidden door in the back of a bar, and there was this underground club with the best jazz I've ever heard. They even had this incredible trumpet player who played a solo that brought the house down. And the place was packed with all these famous people – I swear I saw Beyoncés great-great granddaughter!"

Molly burst out laughing. "Yeah, right! Beyoncé's great-great granddaughter in an underground jazz club in New Orleans at 3 AM? Sure, Casey."

Lila shook her head, grinning. "I think the hand grenades have gone to your head."

Casey pouted. "I'm serious! It really happened!"

Gertie put a comforting arm around Casey. "Even if it didn't, it's a great story. And that's what New Orleans is all about, right? The magic, the mystery, and the unforgettable experiences."

As their time in New Orleans drew to a close, they made their way to The Commanders Palace for the New Orleans Crawdads game against the Brooklyn Robins. The stadium was buzzing with excitement, and the girls were eager to see if the Crawdads could continue their winning streak.

The game was a nail-biter, with the score tied 2-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth. The tension was palpable as Colm Alker, the Crawdads' designated hitter, stepped up to the plate. With two outs and the game on the line, Alker faced off against Brooklyn's pitcher, Garrison Hewitt.

"He’s got this," Gertie said, her eyes fixed on the field.

Alker didn’t disappoint. He connected with a curveball, sending a run-scoring single into the outfield and securing a dramatic walk-off win for the Crawdads. The crowd erupted in cheers, and the girls joined in the celebration, high-fiving and hugging each other.

"That was amazing!" Molly exclaimed, her voice hoarse from cheering.

"Alker is definitely the player of the game," Lila said, grinning ear to ear.

As they left the stadium, still buzzing from the game, Gertie turned to her friends. "Well, ladies, we've had quite the adventure in New Orleans. From Bourbon Street to a walk-off win, this city has definitely left its mark on us."

"And we’ve left our mark on it," Casey added, still insisting on the truth of her incredible story.

Molly laughed. "Here's to more unbelievable stories and unforgettable experiences."

The girls piled back into their car, exhausted but exhilarated, ready for the next leg of their journey. As they drove out of New Orleans, the vibrant memories of the Big Easy stayed with them, promising more adventures ahead.
