2059 BBA/GBC Logo Tournament

Post by cheekimonk » Wed May 22, 2024 9:18 pm

DOH!! I left out the new GBC teams Moscow and Johannesburg. I’ll re-do the bracket with 42 teams before Sunday.

OK, edited bracket - 42 teams (btw, the names of the regions mean nothing)

Welcome, everyone!! Now is the time to breakdown which logos suck and which are tight (actually, this won't say much about the sucky ones). Below is the bracket decided by:

- 42-team bracket (BBA + GBC)
- Top 4 BBA teams from previous season get top seed in each of 4 regions
- Top 2 teams from previous season's GBC Championship & top 2 BBA Wild Card teams placed in each of the 4 regions
- Two bottom teams from BBA in previous season & bottom 2 from GBC get low seeds in each of the 4 regions
- Remaining BBA/GBC teams are assigned seeds with Excel's RNG
- All of this is arbitrary anyway since it impacts nothing so have fun!

Each round will consist of a poll for every matchup. Polls will follow same cycle as Sims: open at Sim deadline, voting for current round closes at next Sim deadline!

If you want to use an alternate logo for your team send me a PM! These are just the logos in-game. Be creative. Have fun. Have new logos (size=150x150) sent to me by Sunday, May 26th 8am Sim deadline. Voting for Round 1 will commence then and close Tuesday, May 28th at 8pm...after which Round 2 voting will commence.

Below is the initial bracket and the link to the PDF (Rocky Mountain, I am so sorry but something went wonky with your logo. It will be fixed when the poll is posted).

I like my chances. I really like my team’s logo. Maybe I’m biased.

The potential matchup vs Mexico City will be interesting. You have more of a “true” logo but that Aztec head is smooth.

Ugh. Unfortunately this was also my conclusion after an initial pass.

I don’t really like mine. Team name is way too generic. Not sure why we ever left Havana.

After top 4 teams and bottom 4, yes it was random. Just a random number generator in Excel

After reviewing them again I think Des Moines is my favorite. One of the few that isn’t a lame circle.

I think the Gamblers have a really strong logo. I could see them going deep into the bracket.

The Tallons logo is the clear winner.

Montreal is east of Twin Cities. Why are we in the Central?

I just made up East, Central, Mountain, Pacific from time zones. I made sure the top 4 seeds lined up with that but it would be impossible to sort everyone geographically

So Charm City is the only logo I ever made in the old logo generator somewhere on the OOTP forums. I think most logos had a circle if you used that generator. Only quoting because you mentioned the circle, not because of any offense. I'd assume most of the ones with the circle were made in that around 10 years ago.

And I love this, fwiw.

Though placing the logos in "Regions" would have been a nice touch.

The "Nature Region" The "Animal Region" etc...

Also, we need another concession stand item bracket. hahaha Kate's Kookies are off the shelf and I need a new concession item.
