"Gertie," he said to Teague's young office clerk. "I need to see Mr. Teague asap. In fact, right now."
Gertie flashed Auchmulty that smile that is famous in the Boise Spuds' offices ever since she was hired 6 months ago.
She replied, "I'm sorry, Mr. Ouchie, but Mr. Teague has told me he is not to be bothered at the moment. Maybe call his phone and leave a voicemail."
"It's Auch...that doesn't matter right now. I must see Mr. Teague. This is an urgent issue and I promise you Mr. Teague will understand."
Auchmulty skirted the front desk, gave 2 loud knocks on Teague's office door, and opened it only to be hit in the face by what looked like an airborne string of yarn.
"Ha, ha, ha!!," Teague loudly laughed. "Auch?! What are you doing here? I thought you were Gertie! Anyway, look at this cool gadget thing. It takes a string of yarn..."
"Sir..." Auchmulty said.
"...and you push this little button..."
"Sir, please..."
"And it makes it fly in the air...alright, what is it? And it better be good. I'm reviewing our mess with left-handed pitchers."
Auchmulty replied, "That's just it, sir. Did you see this headline on the Tuber Timers website?"
Teague took Auchmulty's iPad and his face immediately turned red.

"What the hell?! Wait...isn't Reyes one of the pieces in the package Montreal used to swindle Qutuz Mahdi off us?"
"Yes, sir," Auchmulty replied.
Teague took a deep breath. Auchmulty, or 'Auch' as Teague addressed him, was new to the GM game and he did appreciate him quickly bringing this to his attention. If it wasn't on X (formerly known as Twitter) Teague would never have seen it.
"Oh, this is not good," Teague said as he rubbed his bald head. "We have to be careful how we precede with this."
"We have to publicly address it, Mr. Teague."
"I know that!! That parasite of a beat writer, Tony Toney, is all over this." Teague took another deep breath. "Dammit!" he exclaimed as he paced over to the window of his corner office/suite.
"Gertie!"
The young assistant tentatively poked her head into the office. "Yes, sir?"
"Get Breum in Montreal on the phone!"
"Um, which one, sir?"
"I don't care which one!! ...wait...this is going to be a BBA issue and the Commish is not going to be happy. Dammit!" Teague seemed to ponder his options. "Gertie, get me someone in the Commissioner's office. Anybody."
"Yes, sir."
"Sir," Auchmulty piped up, "maybe this will just blow over?"
"Not likely."
"Ok..." Auchmulty said. "While we're waiting you can show me your yarn thingy..."
"Get the hell out of my office!"
