

Behind an impressive start by Dorian Tzannetakis, Sydney beat Tokyo, 4-2. The loss drops Tokyo to 5-2. James Tumanpil, who finished 3rd in the GBC in stolen bases with 23 last year, aided the Sydney cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-3. The Sharks finally pick up their first win of the season after going 0-5 last week. Spencer Sharrock picks up the hold, while You-cheng Hang picked up his first save of the season. Jayin Ranjani picked up the loss for Tokyo, pitching 5.1 innings while allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Ranjani moves to 1-1 on the seasons.


The Buenos Aires Brisas picked up a win at Estadio Rico, knocking off the Sydney Sharks, 4-3. Starting pitcher Vern Kline played a key role in the triumph. Reliever Aurelio Pérez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Fernando Guerrero took the loss. Alfonso Castillo earned the save, his 1st.

The Sharks scored first in the top of the third inning, as outfielder Jim Ashford hit a two-run RBI double to score both Artus Kihlstedt and Enrique Mendoza[/url]. The lead wouldn't last long for the Sharks though, as the Brisas scored three of their own in the bottom half of the inning to take the 3-2 lead.
In the top of the seventh inning, Sydney tied it at 3-3 off a Enrique Mendoza single that scored Harry S. Stamper III.
However, Buenos Aires picked up the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning off a Bert Cleaver solo home run. His first of the season. "I'm just happy to help the team win," Cleaver told the Buenos Aires Gazette. Sydney drops to 1-6.


The Sydney Sharks overcame a good performance by Buenos Aires shortstop Miguel De La Cruz to knock off Buenos Aires, 7-5, at Estadio Rico. De La Cruz was 3-5 with a home run and a double while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The loss lowers the Buenos Aires record to 3-5.

It was an offensive night for the books for both teams, as they combined for a total of 29 hits, 15 for Sydney and 14 for Buenos Aires. Both starting pitchers left with a no-decision. Spencer Sharrock picked up the win from the bullpen, pitching 1.2 innings while allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts. You-cheng Hang picked up the save in relief, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing two hits. Dani Martínez picked up the loss for the Buenos Aires Brisas, pitching only 1/3rd of an inning while allowing four runs on five hits.


Sharks second baseman Geaney Fay put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Buenos Aires Brisas. Fay went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles while scoring 2 runs for Sydney in the contest. You-cheng Hang collected save number 3. The loss has the Brisas at 3-6.

The struggle continued for center fielder James Tumanpil as he went 1 for 5 with a run batted hin. He's sitting at .188 on the season.
Tomislav Coslovich picked up his first win of the season for Sydney, pitching 6.0 innings while allowing four runs on eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts. José Castro took the loss for Buenos Aires and falls to 0-2. Castro pitched 5.2 innings while allowing six runs on nine hits.


Buenos Aires Brisas starter Kevin Davis came up big today at Estadio Rico with an exceptional 7-0 outing against the Sydney Sharks. Not only did he whip them, but Davis held them hitless, too.

In the course of the no-hitter, Davis collected 8 strikeouts and surrendered 2 walks -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
Rowan Tucker was the starter for Sydney and lasted just 4.0 innings, allowing six runs on six hits with two walks and a strikeout. Tucker moves to 0-2 on the season.


The Sydney Sharks beat the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 7-3, at Blacktown International Sportspark. The Sharks got a fine performance from designated hitter Mohammed bin Mus'ad, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. You-cheng Hang closed the door for Sydney, picking up his 4th save of the year. The Fighting Centaurs, 5-6, continue their sluggish start to the 2055 campaign.
bin Mus'ad had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first-pitch curveball from Dmitr Zhivlyuk, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Sharks a 5-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of his career for the 21-year-old third baseman. bin Mus'ad called the win "a collective effort."
Dorian Tzannetakis started for Sydney and pitched 5.1 but left with a no decision. He allowed just one run on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Alberto Rodríguez picked up the win from the bullpen, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing two hits.


Niegloslaw Woywitka was locked and loaded, helping the Sydney Sharks beat the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 4-0. Spencer Sharrock got the save, the 1st for him this season. The Fighting Centaurs fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start in 2055.
Woywitka's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 3 hits. Woywitka, who finished 4th in the GBC in innings pitched with 202.0 last year, goes to 1-0 on the year with 15 strikeouts.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Françisco Llorenti.
