The Loose Cannon (Hoppy Endings, Sim 3) [PP:2052.12]

You would think that, with a fairly new season, a current 9-10 record and low expectations for 2052, that things would be relatively calm in the Edmonton Jackrabbits clubhouse. But that certainly does not seem to be the case.

As reported earlier, GM Mike Bauer wrote "75+" on the locker room wall, indicative of a 75 win goal for the season. But the next day, fiery manager Jose Sanchez did not take so well to the GM's inscription.

"That a**hole can stay out of my locker room," said the fiery Sanchez, who then crossed out the number "75" and replaced it with another number. "From now on it's 69, so that Bauer can come over here and suck my d***!!!"

This is the least of Sanchez' reported incidents, according to an anonymous player on the Jackrabbits.

"Sanchez has already smashed 3 tablets this year, on top of the numerous ones he's broke in his last two seasons as manager. He's had multiple clashes with our base coaches, especially 1B Coach Robbie de Cock, who frequently is bullied and ridiculed by Sanchez because of his name. But even little things seem to set Sanchez off. One of our players left his glove in the wrong place in the dugout, prompting Sanchez to stick the glove down his pants and gyrate sarcastically before returning it to the player."

A few key factors seem to be pushing Sanchez to a new level this year. He is in the final year of his contract and making a hefty $1.2 million, dwarfing all the other staff members on the payroll, including Bauer. It's been speculated that this is feeding into Sanchez's insecurities about his poor win-loss record and worries about his coaching future. Owner Jim Leonard and the new GM Bauer also seem to be forming a close bond, irritating Sanchez further.

"Mr. Leonard has been rejuvenated by the hiring of Mr. Bauer, and the two of them have been collaborating on various ways to improve the team, competitively and financially," said our source. "They've shut Sanchez out of most of these discussions given he is such a loose cannon. That's brought out a lot of resentment in Coach. Our captain Niccolo (pitcher Destefani) has done an incredible job of keeping the locker room together and all of us united despite the stress of such a volatile manager. He's really the one to credit for our early steadiness."

"In particular, I feel bad for (new 1B) Dylan Malloch. Coach gives Dylan a lot of grief about his celebrity status (viewtopic.php?f=89&t=43406) and has said some pretty crude things about Mina. Dylan really has shown a lot of composure. Mr. Bauer lately has heard about this and is trying to stick up for Dylan. GM and coach have been having a lot of tense conversations lately."

Despite Destefani's leadership, it doesn't seem like such a course is sustainable for a 162-game baseball season. Something is eventually likely to change. We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation.

Sounds like Sanchez is suffering from low self-esteem which is causing a lot of macro-aggressions.
