With the Omaha Hawks competing in consecutive Brewster series for the 2046 and 2047 seasons, that gives Omaha once again the privilege of selecting the reserves for the all-star team this year, along with putting together a lineup for the game.
The Starting lineup:
“It's looking like the Johnson is going to start a left handed pitcher, and we want to be ready for that in the first inning, hoping to strike fast.” Said GM Justin Niles. “Last year, we named Thum a starter, only for the Yellow Springs organization to pry him away from us and put him on the injured list, we're very excited to see him join us this year. Yellow Springs must be cringing knowing that not only do we have control over his players for this night, but it's actually in Omaha. We'll make sure we treat them well, so they remember how much fun this atmosphere was in free agency”
The Positional Backups:
“This was bit trickier than last year. Although not getting a single vote, I think Andrade was a really easy choice for an infield back up role. Hawaii also had a couple players that despite their record, deserve to be all-stars. Arvin, who was a former Omaha prospect, was right behind Orlando in the voting in the outfield, so he is worthy. There were a lot of quality outfielders this year." Niles continued. "Now, I do have a guy on here who is currently a below average player when you look at saber metrics. However, were in Omaha damnit, and this is the first time our home crowd gets to experience an all-star game. Morales deserves to be on this list, and he is.
Pitching Staff:
"Right now, the votes are pretty close whether Delgado or Arroyo are going to start for us. Honestly, I'd send either one of them out there without any hesitation." said Niles on his selections. "I do want to point out Carlos Valle, who obviously isn't going to pitch for us as he is out with an injury. At age 34, he was incredible early on for yellow springs, going 8-1 in his 99 innings pitched, with an ERA under 2. Without that injury, he was on his way to his 4th Nebraska award. It's also worth pointing out he finished twice two years for that award, so for 6 years Carlos Valle had dominated the Frick league. He's had only 11 years when he had complete seasons, starting more than 30 games. When he was healthy, he dominated. When the time comes, he should be a very deservingfirst ballot hall of famer." said Niles
