Re: AFBI 2048
Heh. ALL CAPS? Not deserved.
Sorry I didn't stay longer or get there earlier.
Now that I know how to do it, I'll maybe join again.

You get all caps for the same reason shoeless gets no caps.scottsdale_joe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:43 amHeh. ALL CAPS? Not deserved.

Actually, Recte and Marko get no caps either so I guess I have no idea.Rubaboo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:58 amYou get all caps for the same reason shoeless gets no caps.scottsdale_joe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:43 amHeh. ALL CAPS? Not deserved.

Re: AFBI 2048
The AFBI should be taken like you're in a very loud dive bar. You have to yell louder than everyone else just to be heard by the person standing right next to you.scottsdale_joe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:08 amI'm sure I was a surprise.
Too bad I really had nothing to say.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Re: AFBI 2048
I have way too many years of experience in dive bars. I tend to keep my head down and drink.shoeless.db wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:10 amThe AFBI should be taken like you're in a very loud dive bar. Worst ever dive bar: some joint in Nuuk, Greenland where my wife and I were the only non locals. It was actually scary.
Best ever dive bar: King's Tavern in Saratoga Springs, NY where I actually tended bar sometimes. It has, however, now graduated to be way better than a dive bar where I no longer tend bar.

Re: AFBI 2048
Not a dive bar, but realized I'm too old for the "college bar" scene a few years back. Went to Charlottesville, VA for a concert and after the show my wife and a few other family members went to a college bar near the UVA campus. Had a few beer. Music was loud. Suddenly about 35 college kids hop on the tables of the booths and start dancing.scottsdale_joe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:21 amI have way too many years of experience in dive bars. I quickly exited the premises and went to my hotel. One family member (who I dubbed the Godfather of C-ville) was behind the bar filling up pitchers for everyone (former UVA student and bar tender a decade earlier and was obviously still well known) while another older family member was banging his fist on the bar to "Proud to be an American".
I prefer my drinking to be social, and not chaotic.

What a start lol
"they" can be singular and in fact we've all used it as a singular pronoun without even knowing it
