C Hsin Mei had an incredible year.
The 37 year old - on his second tour with the crawdads, was signed late in free agency as a stopgap to fill a gaping hole behind the plate. No other team looked at him very strongly - yet the crawdads gave him a 5.5M one year deal.
He responded well. He hit .270 with 23 HRs and 4.2 WAR. Not too shabby coming off the 2046 season where he hit just .240 for Bucharest. And he hit below the Mendoza line the 2 years prior to that.
Mei was originally signed as an international free agent Out of China I’m 2027. After 5 or so great seasons he was traded to Mexico City for Christian Garcia and several other prospects.
So now what. A free agent again. Coming off his best season since 2039. What does he do? “I’ll take some time in the next few months to talk with family. Retirement isn’t really my bag. I need to be around this game.”

Excellent year for him. Wonder if he can get a multi-year contract out of this.
