2044-00006: Talons Have Pretty Much Given Up on Competing at the ML Level. But They Have One Hell of a Single A Team!

Phoenix, AZ--

With an early season record of 5-7 and a current showing of 7th place in whatever division they play in*, the Talons are off on another incredible journey of mediocrity.

There are a few bright spots, however. Pedro Guzman (.370/.439/.739) appears to finally be living up to his promise as the most feared Talons hitter since Carlton Winson. And free agent signee Cisco Morales (3-0, 2.11) is off to an amazing start, bouying hopes that he might bring something back in trade in a couple months, or at least an S1 pick if he keeps performing well. But the real bright spot for the Talons is their Single A ballclub, the Toledo Liberty.

Since the Phoenix franchise began BBA play in 2029, their Single A team has played some damn good ball in this small Ohio city. Looking at their history, it's rather eye opening to see that the Liberty have been to the Charley Pegler League playoffs in 12 of their 15 seasons, winning four overall Championships during that time. Over 11 million fans have enjoyed Toledo baseball since the team's founding. Currently, the Liberty are 10-3, led by last year's first round pick C Ichizo Sugiyama (.316/409/.789), and on their way to competing for a 6th straight division title.

The Talons have a history of great minor league teams, dating back to the NACBA days. Too bad they've never translated that success to the big league level.

*[Editor's Note: After extensive research on the topic, it has been determined that the Talons are in the JL Frontier division]
