Part of Nashville’s plan was acquiring young pitching and depositing aging players elsewhere. One of the key parts of the Vegas trade was RHP Adrian Custello, who broke into the Top 100 list as the #90 BBA prospect last summer. He continued improving to become ranked #63 after the season concluded. The 19 year old continued to make strides in the offseason and started the season ranked #46 in the BBA. Not too bad for someone who wanted to be a hitter. It wasn't until, yet another strikeout, that he threw his bat like a boomerang out of disgust and a San Antonio Outlaws scout took notice of his incredible arm strength. He was moved in a trade to Vegas the following year as a pitcher and now Custello began the 2044 season in A ball with the Springdale Roosters. However, if he keeps improving his stuff, he will likely see AA by season's end. In 13.1 IP this season, Custello is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA and 10 strikeouts. Nashville hopes Custello can join Nashville in the 2045 season at the earliest, but when he does arrive, he should stick around the top of the rotation.
