BNN Top 100 Prospects List Updated
With the mid-season mark upon us, now is a great time to update the pre-season BNN Top 100 Prospect list with what we have learned to this point. This year 20-year-old 2B Luis Mendoza of the Louisville Sluggers is the #1 prospect overall.

Here is the top 10:
1) 2B Luis Mendoza, 20, Louisville Sluggers
2) LHP Bill Constable, 20, Charm City Jimmies
3) RHP Amos Swallows, 20, Edmonton Jackrabbits
4) LHP Dave Lee, 22, Yellow Springs Nine
5) 2B Mal Fountain, 22, New Orleans Crawdads
6) LF Don Jaramillo, 22, Montreal Blazers
7) RF José Romero, 22, Atlantic City Gamblers
8) LF Rajeshkumar Simha, 16, Phoenix Talons
9) RHP Itze Woertgen, 22, Edmonton Jackrabbits
10) LHP Warren Moore, 22, Charlotte Cougars

You can view the full list in the Top Prospects Report from the reports menu. The Top Minor League Systems Report has been updated as well.
Imagine if I had kept all my picks the last few years. I'd have 3 of the Top 10, and my team would probably still have the same record the have now.
Yeah I got what you were doing but you definitely should of held on to Lee. He's a guy I was hoping I'd somehow get for awhile now. Long before he was drafted the first time. Pitching is king, especially right now. You get them high end guys, you better be sure of your return when you trade them. I'm kind of having that conundrum with Constable right now. I'm willing to deal him but it's gotta be the right spot.
I dont have any buyer's remorse, just yet at least. I feel like I got good enough value for what he was at the time. There were enough people interested but since he was still "raw" and "unproven" they weren't as ready to commit to Potential. Moore is a little closer than Lee and Swallows when I had them so he's easier to hold onto.

The Expansion Team experience also plays a part in the decisions as well. One HOF-caliber is great for a team but if the rest of the team is poo-poo, then it wont have much of an impact.

I've been an expansion team so I don't blame you. Maybe I just look at prospects different. To me, Lee was pretty developed when he was drafted by Wichita, let alone by you. Looking, it overall ratings weren't but I know his pitches looked well. But as I said before, I had my eye on him awhile. Swallows was different for me. I like him but clearly was developing slow.

And I'm not trying to bust your balls or anything. I'm just commenting on what you said. Me personally, I'd rather have those couple high potential guys. You could of held them back a year or so to fit your plan. But I totally get the mindset of getting as much talent as possible. Wasn't huge on those trades but you have some talent up and down the system and in the majors that will eventually get you where you want to go.

I don't know what to think of my team. I've been playing better recently, definitely better than last season, but playoffs are still out of reach.
