The Canes starting the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a run-scoring double by Mike Schofield and a wild pitch. The Canes added another run in the 4th inning with Alejandro Rodriguez hitting his 7th homer of the season. The Canes then added another run in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings to preserve the win on run-scoring singles by Omer Dijkstra, Pancho Costa, and Julio Uribe.
Domenic Blondell (2-3) gained the win by going 7 innings while allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. Gonzalo Mercado earned his first save of the season by getting the final two outs.
Quintiliano Rodeia (3-4) was tagged with the loss as he gave up five runs in 6.1 innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 26-27.
