2043 Sacramento Mad Popes Preview
Going into the offseason the Mad Popes were looking to improve this team to continue their success. Sacramento only lost back up 1B Sergio Maldonado to free agency.
Sacramento set to sign some free agents and dip their shoeless toes into the trade market. The first acquisition made by the Mad Popes was to draft CF Juan Murrillo in the Rule V from the Mexico City Aztecs Organization. The 6’0 170 pounder from Buenos Aires is a speedster and defensive specialist that made progress as far as A ball in Council Bluffs. He has a long way to go and will not contribute much of anything this season.
Sacramento then made a trade with the Montreal Blazers sending RP Phil Brown, Closer
Bill O’Connor (A), SP Vaughn Mullally (A), CF Pete Davis (A) and CF Keith Schultz in exchange for SS Henri “Papillion” Charriere.
Charriere is a slick fielding SS with a good eye. He will get on base, steal a few bags and get some valuable extra base hits. He will most likely start the season in AAA.
Sacramento signed former Seattle Storm SP Shotaro Kawamura to a 3 year 9.28 million dollar contract.
Then Mad Popes GM “Shoeless”Doug Olmstead took a chance on injured SP Knud Zeitler signing him to a 4 year 17.2 million dollar contract. Zeitler will be rehabbing from UCL Replacement Surgery and will get a chance to earn his keep in 2044.

Horrible. (The team, not the preview. Preview and projected stat lines were excellent!)

Re: 2043 Sacramento Mad Popes Preview
Thanks for the preview. I think this is a hold-on-by-the-threads season for us. Do we have enough in the tank to win the strongest division in baseball again.

You would have a great shot at the Pacific, though ...
