F.U.B.A.Rs of the Sim - Sim 17

Post by 7teen » Sat May 02, 2020 12:15 pm

July 21
Portland 12 - Vancouver 2
Put the Lumberjacks on the winning side of the ledger! Who cares if we lost the series! We FUBAR'd the Mounties!! Lionnel Crepin hit his 20th homerun of the season in the first inning and chipped in a double as part of a 3-5 game with 5 runs batted in. Paco Diaz and Jon Mick had 3 run homers each as their lone hits. Angel Romero allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and a walk over just 2 innings pitched in the start. Jose Ramirez added 5 more runs in the game on 3 hits in 1.1 innings pitched.

July 22
Charm City 10 - Jacksonville 1
Here come the Hurricanes, closing in on Long Beach's record of 0-10. The Hurricanes drop to 0-7 on the season in FUBAR games with the loss. The story should have probably been the combined 1 hitter the Jimmies pitchers tossed, but that's not this feature. Pedro Ruiz had a bases clearing triple in the third inning that was part of a 5-run frame for Charm City. Eliseu Satino hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd to get the scoring underway. All 10 Jimmies runs came in the 2nd through the 4th innings. The game lasted just 3:12 likely becoming the shortest FUBAR of the season.

July 23
Brooklyn 13 - Montreal 3
This game was relatively tight until Bob Coleman came in to pitch for the Blazers. He entered the 7th inning with his team trailing. He left the game with his team trailing 10-1 and it set the stage for the FUBAR loss. Brooklyn wound up scoring 9 runs in the inning to go up 13-1 and then held on over the last 2 innings for the FUBAR win. Felipe Vega only had one hit but it was good for his 32nd homerun of the season!

Twin Cities 16 - Omaha 1
The River Monsters belted 5 homeruns in the game including 2 off the bat of Joe Bradshaw who now has 25 on the season after this game. Bradshaw had 3 RBI in the game to tie him with Gutierrez and Heijnen. Gutierrez added his 15th homerun of the season as well. Three separate Omaha pitchers allowed at least 5 runs each, led by In-sung Yi who allowed 6 in the start over 3.1 innings. Amaya and Garcia each allowed 5. Amaya lasted 2.2 innings while Garcia was only able to record 2 outs.

Chicago 13 - Des Moines 2
Three FUBARs in the same day!! This one saw 15 runs on just 14 hits. Hao Hang hit his 29th and 30th homeruns of the season, going 2 for 2 with 2 runs and 5 RBI. Fernando Reyes went 3-4 with a homerun, 3 runs scored, and 4 RBI of his own. Ernesto Lopez was roughed up the the Black Sox on the mound as he allowed 7 of the 13 runs over the first 3 innings pitched. He allowed 5 hits, but 3 were homeruns as he fell to 4-4 on the season with a 4.62 ERA.

New Orleans 15 - Wichita 1
New Orleans had 19 hits in this one and 12 of those went for extra bases. They had: 6 Doubles (2 by Pedro Gomez); 2 Triples (Including Rangel's 10th of the season); and 4 Homeruns (2 by Mario Barrera) Barrera was the star of the day, going 3-5 with the 2 homeruns, a double, and 5 runs batted in. Duane Coutts dropped to 4-4 on the season with the loss. Coutts allowed 7 runs on 9 hits and a walk over 2 innings pitched in the start. Julio Garcia only managed 1 out before allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and a walk.

The goal for this season is no more FUBARS in the loss column but at least 1 in the win column.

I’m glad I got 1 in the W column. I really didn’t think we could do it.
