After a fantastic April, The Crusaders struggled a bit in May going 11-17. The players listed below were some bright spots that kept us going through this tough month.
Starter of the Month:
Michael Shellenbarger
In 6 games started he was 3-1 with a 3.71 ERA in 34 IP. He notched 26 K's to go against 13 walks. His WHIP was 1.56. Shelly's numbers aren't stellar but he was the most consistent guy a struggling Crusader team could throw out there.
Reliever of the Month:
Austin Horta
In 11 games he was 1-0 with 0 Saves and a 0.00 ERA. He notched 12 K's to go against just 2 walks. His WHIP was a low .82. Austin has yet to give up an earned run this season.
Infielder of the Month:
Seve Kava
He appeared in 28 games hitting .287/.320/.365/.685 in 115 AB's. He blasted 1 HR to power his way to a total of 12 RBI. Kava was a steady force this month. He started every single game and did a nice job.
Outfielder of the Month:
Sadaharu Oh Jr
He appeared in 16 games hitting .362/.431/.707/1.138 in 58 AB's. He blasted 5 HR's to power his way to a total of 13 RBI. A sprained ankle kept Oh jr off the field for over weeks. In his limited activity this month he was a monster. He is having a fantastic season so far.

I should have tried harder to keep Kava. He's a useful player.

Most of the players I'm reading about now are former Hustlers. What gives matt?
