The Montreal Blazers announced today that they have started construction on a new 45,000 seat ballpark. The Blazers have played since 1999 in the 55,000 seat Le Palais dome. Owner John Percolo said today that "Montreal fans deserve a ballpark they are proud off. We have a lot of history at Le Palais, including the 2011 BBA Championship. But the maintenance fees were becoming cost prohibitive. It made more sense to build new."
Percolo also announced that Ubisoft has come on board to sponsor the naming rights. GM Jeffrey Everroad said "Maybe with Ubisoft being the naming sponsor, maybe we can get some free videos games for the young guys to take advantage of on off days." Ubisoft is a Frence video game company based out of Montreuil, France. Ubisoft also has a studio based here in Montreal. Yannis Mallat (CEO) of Ubisoft said "The partnership made perfect sense. We love baseball and love supporting the ongoings in Montreal."
The following are the artist renderings of the ballpark.

GM Jeffrey Everroad said Ubisoft Field should be open in time for opening day 2042. We asked about ticket prices and if we will see any type of increase, as of now management says that has not been decided.
