Martin Marin wants out of Omaha(41.05)

Post by niles08 » Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:30 am

As first reported by OOTP, Martin Marin is looking to move on from Omaha as soon as the team wants to send him somewhere.

Marin, who is set to be a free agent at the end of the season, is actually having a decent time at the plate despite limited action. In 18 plate appearances this season, Marin has a .389/.478/.611 triple slash after having his designated hitter role taken away by Justin Jackson near the trade deadline last season.

Marin has been in Omaha for the past 5 and a half seasons and has had relative success. His best season was in 2039 when he batted .301/.346/.569 with 43 home runs. Just a season later, however, the club moved onto Justin Jackson and told Marin to take a seat on the bench in an interesting fashion. Marin actually posted 3 straight seasons of at least a positive 2.1 WAR before his demotion to pinch-hitting duties.

While still only 27 years old, it appears Marin’s time in Omaha is coming to an end. The only question is when that will end? Will he be dealt to a different club before the season ends? Will he be released? Or will he sit on the bench for the rest of the season?
