Beautiful Black Sox Park opened to the public on April 1, 2040 as it hosted its first-ever Opening Day, a game against the California Crusaders. That first, along with many others, are captured here as the Black Sox write their new history in Chicago. Welcome and enjoy!

Largest Paid Attendance: 34,955 on Wednesday, 04/04/40 vs. Louisville

First Sox win: 5-3 victory over the California Crusaders, April 1, 2040.

First Walk-Off Win: 4-3 victory over the San Fernando Bears, 05/03/40. Sox 3B Luis González hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the 9th off San Fernando RP Miroslav Tomanek for the win.

First Extra Inning Game: Sox vs. the Madison Wolves, June 22, 2040, 10 innings, 10-9 loss. RP Pavel Bure, Jr., takes the loss.

First Extra Inning Sox Win: Sox vs. the Madison Wolves, June 23, 2040, 12 innings, 4-3 win. Catcher Diesel Dave hit a walk-off double, scoring DH Raúl Gasco from first. Sox RP Raúl Jaramillo got the win, Madison RP Victorio Contreras took the loss.

Longest Game: 14 innings, July 22, 2040, vs. Nashville Bluebirds. Sox won 5-4 on a walk-off solo homer by RF Manny Cleide.

First SB: Claudio Defazio, 2B for the California Crusaders, in the top of the 3rd inning of Chicago’s 5-3 win on 04/01/40. Defazio walked to get on base, stole second, and later scored on a double by California CF Po-sin Shi.

First Sox SB: Manny Cleide, Sox RF, in the bottom of the 6th of Chicago’s 6-5 loss to Louisville on 04/04/40. Cleide got on base via a fielder’s choice. He was stranded at 2B.
