By the next morning, all heck had broken loose in the Holy City.
The resignation of Hebrew Hammers GM Lee Scott came as such a surprise to the players, fans, media and BBA board members that all scrambled to try to make sense of things.
What follows is a recollection of events by several folks that played a part, be it big or small, of that fateful date in Hebrew Hammers sports history.
So find out what happens when people stop being polite and start setting a mattress on fire…
Ramon Vazquez – The senior member and veteran leader of the club was reporting to the clubhouse to meet the new GM and get a taste of some of that world famous “Pool Lasagna” he’s heard so much about. “The next thing I knew there were tons of media and BBA officials on conference calls and Jerusalem staff running around screaming about forgetting to check the oil pressure" …and you know what happened next...
.
Betty Jo Hirschfield – “Bubbie Jo”, known to fans all over the park, as the longest tenured season ticket holder. “I was looking forward how new GM was going to turn this team around…add some stability” Sighting the merry go round of Jerusalem GMs since the team’s championship season of 2038.
“We are a proud franchise! We have the 2nd highest winning percentage in the UMEBA! We deserve better!” she said
Denny Dooley – The Skipper of the Hammers was just as shocked and sadden to hear the news. "I always try to look on the bright side of things. Look it could be worse, we could be getting this guy..."

Luckily for the faithful of the Hebrew Hammers the BBA brain trust had a plan in-case such a disaster struck this proud franchise.
A new GM for the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers was quickly found.
New GM Mike Simon stepped up to the podium and re-assured the Hebrew faithful that he is here for the long hall and looks to bring some stability and leadership to this franchise. “We’ve got a good group of core players here, and our farm system is rated #1 in the league.” When asked about how we was going to get fan interested up and some “tuakas” into the seats by one reporter, GM Simon smiled and replied “We have some theme nights planned…” perhaps some festive chochki?
