Tater Talk: 2039.44 – Week in Review, 8/18-8/24

Post by jleddy » Wed Aug 14, 2019 1:44 am

Image WEEK IN REVIEW (1-6): As quickly as Boise jumped above .500, a frustrating week has the Spuds at 64-66 and now in fourth place in the Frick Frontier with Edmonton jumping up to third. Despite losing six games, Boise's run differential was only -8, losing three games by one run and two by two runs.

ORE-IDA® TATER-TOTS EMOJI SUMMARY OF THE WEEK: 🏁 🐇💨 🥔

HITTERS OF THE WEEK: Alfredo Salazar - 7-for-17, 4 2B, 3 SB (.412 AVG, 1.147 OPS)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Bill Pidduck - 1 S, 7 IP (0.00 ERA, 0.43 WHIP)

GAME OF THE WEEK: The Spuds' lone bright spot for the week was a 4-1 victory on August 22nd at Hawaii. Relievers Dave Walsh and Bill Pidduck combined for five innings of no-hit ball, allowing just one walk and striking out six Tropics batters. Pedro Holguín's first-inning triple to drive home leadoff hitter Dennis French put the Spuds up early, and a ninth-inning solo shot from Carlos Muñóz sealed the victory for Boise.

I could read the disappointment in this team news. Here's to a solid 7-0 sim for Boise... unless we play, then I hope you stink it up again.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Give Cally an inch and next thing you know you're down two more games.

Haha...the front office is letting him guide the ship the rest of the year out, so we'll see what happens. One thing for sure, Boise management doesn't like to play the "fall guy" card, so we're definitely not setting up Cally to fail.
