2039 draft

Post by Fat Nige » Thu Jul 11, 2019 2:15 pm

This really isn't worth anything is it? I struggled to find anyone remotely likely to make it into a UMEBA team with the last pick (8 overall) of the first round and after having to select one level above something you've stepped in at the end of round 2, I've switched to autopick lol. You lot can fight it out over the amoebas left lol

Draft good personalities and guys you think can bump. Chances are some of those terrible guys will in the next couple of years as talent rises in the UMEBA.

I don't. The talent level of our league is going to be driven far more by BBA castoffs than it is through our draft. A build through the draft philosophy will not work in UMEBA.

Just wondering why we have nine picks in round three? Surely not compo for a third round pick? At this stage they’re hardly worth a used sweet wrapper let alone a compo pick?

If we’re giving out compo picks this low down I’ll definitely not be signing mine lol. I’ll wait for this new & wondrous draft that Matt promises us

He didn't say it would be next year and comps only carry to the next. So it probably won't suit you well unless Matt intervenes. Mmy assumption is that he lets OOTP do its thing and if it improves, it will be over time.

The real focus of my question was why we have nine not eight picks in round 3 ? I accept Beirut getting a compo pick in the first round but an extra pick for Mumbai in the third? Where are all these extra picks listed, surely I must merit one lol?

I think I manually picked the first three rounds, then I switched to auto. Not going to trawl through all the projected 20s/25s, I just lack the willpower.

I missed my 4th round pick (my bad) then put a guy on my list and put it on auto.

Yeah, the only two players that I drafted that won't be released are the first and second rounders. I agree that most of our talent will come from BBA castoffs. Even if a we find a gem in the first few draft picks of the first round, we will eventually lose that person to the BBA through the rule 4 draft.
