Opening Day is tomorrow

Post by ae37jr » Thu Jan 10, 2019 8:47 pm

The "in game" schedule is out of whack. Says opening day is 6/24(tomorrow in game). I don't know if this is going to reset the season or if it's just a random glitch.

Umm, are we reaching "do over" status? Anyone not download the file yet? Who knows what else is wrong?

I'm pretty sure Hawaii wouldn't have released Dave Buchanan on purpose.

And any draftees not signed now show that you only had until June 9th to negotiate with them. Two weeks before the current sim date.

lol... It's like everyone's team got their Roster Moves set the AI (Assistant GM) and it went crazy...

My Bullpen was screwed up
Batting Lineups rearranged
Few guys were called up and other demoted

No one released though for Twin Cities I don't think... at least no one who wasn't supposed to

Why would we do the sim over? All of the changes appeared to happen after the games were played.

Yeah, my whole organisation is completely altered, loads of players moved between levels with nothing showing on the transaction logs. I certainly don't feel like spending the two or three hours minimum it would take to try to sort out all the levels to the way I had it before

As a GM that just started (returned), it is pretty frustrating to have to redo the 2+ hours of work I already did to get the organization the way I wanted it; not that I was done by any means....to redo all of that is just not going to happen now for another week or 2. Seems like there was an obvious issue with the sim where it ran incorrectly. Rewinding 7 days seems reasonable considering the sim didn't run as expected as it was.

Thank you.

Why would we need to rewind the full 7 days when it seems like all of the issues (at least from what I have seen) happened after the last day of the sim? If it is not possible to roll back a partial sim and the only option is the full thing I get it, but if we can just roll back 1 day that makes infinitely more sense than 7.

I don't recall saying we had to rewind 7 days. I think it is reasonable based on what occurred. That said, if there's the ability to go back only to where the issue occurred then that makes sense as well. I'm not the Commish, so I have no idea if that is possible. Do you?

All I'm saying, is that it should be fixed, not pushed forward as is.

Thing is, I don't think it's possible to just back up one day. We would have to go back to the last file.

lol... I'm sure Lane wouldn't feel too bad about a rewind.

I'm all for a solution that creates the least work for Matt.

Yes, it sucks for some of us. But it's going to suck a lot more Matt in the next few days having to fix the league.

I agree that whatever happened, seemed to happen after the last games of the sim were played. My batting lineups were correct in the last 2 games. So the integrity of the games played in the Sim seems to be intact. If outcomes of games were dramatically affected by the glitch, then a rewind would seem more in order.

So I'm down with whatever he decides.

I'm all for the least work for a commish. I am one myself so I get that. But sometimes, you have to do more work to get it right. And it's a huge pain in the ass but it is what it is. He could have an easier solution. But whatever happened seems to go beyond just some players being moved around.
