Drunk and Lonely Musings: 1995 #1
The bottle is empty again. It always is by this time in Greenville. We're just not getting it done, despite having Lee and Hayes, two of the most dominant young players in the entire league, and the historic slugger, Long Chamberlain. It's not that we're bad, but rather that we just haven't pulled everything together. It feels like I'm on the same line as the Me in an alternate universe, somewhere, where I accumulate dominant players, but just can't get the supporting cast right.
So how do I make it work? I haven't aborted the finances here, and in fact, we're probably going to make a mint. We have the #2 pick, so you know, we're looking pretty good there. The core is young, and we're not as attached to Chamberlain as once were (there was a time we would have sent him to the plate sans bat, if that's what it took to keep him in the lineup). So, we'll try some new things, maybe. A new, but still drunken, strategy. Or, we'll find we don't have enough time for this shit, and cry when some asshole takes over my beloved team, and drives them to a Championship.

Can we have a Fitt-style post about "bringing Long Chamberlain back from a horrible lump"??

Keep throwing salt on the wounds, you douchebag. I am convinced you nuked Chamberlain on purpose. I was going to name my second born after you. Now I'm pondering either Rectesux or Mattdouche. Not great girl names, but might work as her middle name.recte44 wrote:Can we have a Fitt-style post about "bringing Long Chamberlain back from a horrible lump"??
