Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Jorge Rodriguez
Here's the place to talk about the career of:
Jorge Rodriguez
Center Field
Active Career: 2018-2034 (17 seasons)
2508 hits, 505 HR, 1651 RBI, .293/.350/.518 80.9 WAR
Sawyer Silk Award: 2022, 2023
6-Time Charles Pucket Golden Bat
6-time Zimmer Diamond Glove
8-Time All-Star
Hall of Fame Metrics: (average HoF)
JAWS: 66.2 (57)
Black Ink: 12 (22)
Gray Ink: 152 (105)
HOF Standards: 57 (53)
HOF Monitor: 162 (123)
# Combined with Juan Escobar, part of a marque dynamic duo. Rodriguez was a sublime fielder at a key position, and combined that athletic grace with a bat that terrorized pitchers. He's got the counting numbers, he's got the advanced metrics, and he's got the standards (that black ink says he rarely led the league in various categories, but the smashing gray ink says he was pretty much always in the mix).

If there's a better center fielder who's ever played the game, they're not much better than him.

Over 500 Homeruns and a WAR over 80. He's in.
Probably one of the top 5 CFs to play in the league.

Wish I could put his glove on the current YS9 version of Jorge Rodriquez.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Jorge Rodriguez
I might be a little biased here, but he better get in. He's the best or 2nd best player in franchise history.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Jorge Rodriguez
Only second best? If we can keep FTIII out for only 7 steals, then clearly Rodriguez can't make it in, either.

Re: Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Jorge Rodriguez
Well, it's either him or Juan Escobar. Escobar isn't done yet, so it's still kind of up in the air.
