The day after falling to Rockville in the playoffs, the New Orleans Crawdads have released http://montybrewster.net/BBA/HTML/news/ ... 048.html
CF Jorge Vargas.
Vargas was signed to a 5 year, 69M deal in 2032. The deal was intended to provide stability in CF, a position of weakness. Vargas did help stabalize things in CF, having a very good 2033 season, but since then he has been a solid veteran presence with a salary that far outweighted his ability.
"We expected great things from Jorge, and he delivered" GM Jim Roberts said, apparently neglecting that they are choosing to pay him $12M in 2036 to NOT play for them. "He helped us make the playoffs this year, and for that we are forever grateful"
Rumor has it New Orleans tried to move Vargas at the trade deadline, but had no takers.
New Orleans has some help coming in CF which made Vargas expendible. OF Virgil Shafer and OF Pedro Costa will battle it out to be the everyday CF in New Orleans next season.

Shafer has developed nicely defensively, he'll definitely be good. Definitely did not win that trade
