Ping: Commish

Post by lynchy34 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:16 pm

The spring training sim was pushed to April 1, thus giving all people on the 40-man roster a 300K contract and a day of service time. This shouldn't happened and has thus pushed me over the cap. I shouldn't have to cut prospects in AAA to get under the cap because of a simming error. Is there any remedy for this?

I also had the same problem...I have a bunch of guys with 300k contracts that would not have otherwise. AND you reased last years first round pick (#3 overall) as my compliance penalty. I'm not right right now.

And futher, I had 3 guys I put on the Waiver wire to correct this issue. Why were those guys on the WW not released?

Putting people on the waiver wire doesnt correct the issue.

Fellas, I'll look into this before Monday and see what I can do.

How does the game calculate your total salary? Isn't it just the total value of salaries on your 40 man roster at any given time? Or does it prorate salaries for adjustments mad throughout the year?

Every player on the 40 man roster is included in the team salary. So if you didn't want all the $300,000 salaries wouldn't you have to waive, trade, or release them... or not even have put them on the 40 man roster to begin with?

I'm also very close to the cap. Just want to be clear about it.

If you go to your Front Office tab, it's Player Salaries + Personnel Salaries.

$95 million is the magic number.

what if the game says something different. For example. According to my owner in the game, I have only a 87 mil cap.

That's another story altogether - there's a league cap of $95 million. Individual team caps don't necessarily correspond.
